DIAPHRAGMS AND TECHNICAL RUBBER MOLDINGS

Ipotec is the exclusive North American representative and distributor for TUMEDEI S.p.A., located in Northern Italy. TUMEDEI S.p.A. manufactures custom designed technical rubber products, specializing in:

Molded rubber diaphragms;
Diaphragms formed from rubber coated fabric;
Reinforced and strengthened molded rubber diaphragms;
PTFE coated diaphragms.

Elastomers in regular production include NBR (nitrile, buna-N), CR (chloroprene), EPDM, VMQ (silicone), FVMQ (fluorosilicone) and FKM (fluorocarbon). Fabrics and fabric inserts include polyamide, polyester, aramid fiber and glass fiber.

Applications

Actuators - actuators, servo units, brake cylinders, switch and valve controls, pressure units;

Regulators - pressure regulators, pressure reduction units, flow controls;

Valves - pressure and safety valves; emission control valves;

Pumps - fuel pumps, fuel injection and carburation systems, vacuum booster pumps, metering pumps, compressors;

Accumulators - expansion vessels, pressure accumulators, hydraulic accumulators.

TUMEDEI operates a management policy dedicated to "total quality" in all its activities, through the establishment of a formally documented quality assurance system registered under ISO 9001, and through the continued training of all employees.

Technical Resource

There is a well-equipped laboratory, capable of meeting most requirements for technical data. TGA and DSC are used for analysis, control and development of materials. Certifications can be provided, where relevant, for compliance with international standards such as FDA, WRC.

TUMEDEI also carries out application-oriented research and development into diaphragm materials and design. The R & D Center has a number of test fixtures where it is possible to simulate the operating conditions of the diaphragms and to carry out functional dynamic testing. Customer components are often used in these functional tests. Test data can be processed to provide predictions of diaphragm performance under different conditions and at different stages throughout the product's life.
